Forklift Types and Equipment

7 Questions
Is age or condition more important?
The running condition is more important than age. The year a forklift was produced does not matter as much as how it runs, and most forklifts are durable and stand the test of time.
What is the average hourly usage per year on a forklift?
Average usage is approximately 1,500 hours per year, and anything over 2,000 hours per year is considered high usage.
Can you put pneumatic tires on a cushion tire forklift?
No. The wheel opening on a cushion tire forklift will not accept a pneumatic tire. Buy a pneumatic or solid pneumatic tire forklift for outdoor applications, and a cushion tire forklift for indoor and warehouse applications.
What is the difference between 3-wheel and 4-wheel forklifts?
3-wheel forklifts offer a compact turning radius for maximum maneuverability in tight indoor spaces. 4-wheel forklifts provide greater stability and higher load capacity, and they perform well indoors and outdoors.
Which forklift is best for narrow aisles?
Narrow aisle forklifts work in aisles significantly tighter than standard counterbalance trucks require. For high-bay and ultra-tight aisle applications, very narrow aisle forklifts can dramatically increase pallet positions.
When do I need an EE rated or explosion-proof forklift?
If your facility has hazardous or sensitive conditions, such as flammable vapors, dust, fuels, solvents, or chemicals, an EE rated or explosion-proof forklift is essential.
What forklift attachments do you carry?
We carry paper roll clamps, rug poles, carton and container clamps, appliance clamps, rotators, fork positioners, and side shifters. See our Accessories and Attachments page.

Fuel and Operating Costs

5 Questions
Are diesel engines efficient?
Yes. Diesel engines are very efficient compared to propane and gasoline. They are fuel efficient and require less maintenance than propane and gas forklifts.
How long can a full propane tank operate a forklift?
A full propane tank typically runs a forklift for 8 to 12 hours, depending on the application.
How much propane is in a propane cylinder?
An average 35 lb propane cylinder holds approximately 7 gallons of fuel.
Is propane or gasoline cheaper?
Gasoline is cheaper because it is more readily available, but propane is more popular for forklifts.
Is electric or internal combustion cheaper to run?
Electric forklifts cost more up front because of the battery and charger, but they have fewer moving parts and lower maintenance costs than internal combustion trucks over time.

Selling Your Forklift

5 Questions
What types of forklifts do you buy?
We buy electric, LPG and gas, and diesel forklifts, cushion and pneumatic tire models, stand-up and sit-down trucks, and warehouse equipment and attachments.
Do you buy forklifts that need repair?
Yes. Whether your forklift is running, sitting idle, or in need of repair, we will evaluate it and make an offer that reflects the current market.
How do you determine my offer?
Your offer is based on real demand across the US and international markets, the condition of your equipment, and current market value rather than outdated price lists.
How quickly will I get paid?
Once a price is agreed upon, we arrange payment quickly and coordinate pickup or truck loading as needed.
Are there any fees to sell my forklift?
No. There are no hidden fees and no pushy sales tactics. Get started on our Sell Your Forklift page.
